Tracks

Two tracks. Two ways in.

Pilot Track — Finished Film

3–20 min genre pilot (including the official PixLight title card)

Create a complete AI short film or pilot episode in one of the three genre directions. Any style is welcome, including hybrid AI and live-action workflows. PixVerse Canvas must serve as the primary creative platform.

Your submission needs: genre direction, work title, video file (MP4/MOV, ≤2GB), cover image (16:9), one-line pitch (≤500 characters), synopsis (≤3000 characters), a valid Canvas Share Link, a social media link to the submitted film posted publicly with both #PixLight2026 and #PixVerse, and the official PixLight title card in your film. Workflow summary and team member details are optional.

We look for: a clear world, a memorable lead, cinematic pacing, and a Canvas workflow worth cloning.

Script Track — Screenplay

45–90 min feature screenplay for AI-native production

Submit a complete screenplay for an AI feature film, along with a video pitch presenting your vision. No finished video or Canvas project required.

The 45–90 minute range refers to the intended screen runtime. As a general guide, one screenplay page is approximately one minute of screen time.

Your submission needs: genre direction, work title, cover image (16:9), video pitch (1–5 min, MP4/MOV, ≤2GB), one-line pitch (≤500 characters), synopsis (≤3000 characters), and complete screenplay (PDF/DOC/DOCX). Character bios are optional.

Your cover image, title, synopsis, and video pitch may appear publicly in the PixLight Gallery. Your full screenplay and optional character bios will remain private and will be accessible only to the contest review team and jury.

What is a Video Pitch? A 1–5 minute video where you present your story. Talk to camera, narrate over concept art, use AI-generated visuals, or mix formats — the more visual, the stronger your pitch.

We look for: an original world with real emotional stakes — and a story ready to go into production.

Genre Directions

Three directions, available across both tracks. Each entry must select one genre direction. We do not accept works without narrative structure, pure visual experiments, or concept reels without story.

Under the Skin

Drama · Comedy · Coming-of-Age · Social Realism

The quietest stories hit the hardest. A first love. A family secret. A summer that changed everything. Start with something real — then let it become something more.

Worlds Beyond

Sci-Fi · Fantasy · Supernatural · Mythology

A shop that sells memories. A planet where music is illegal. A god who forgot what she created. Start with an impossible idea — then make us believe it.

Edge of Seat

Horror · Thriller · Mystery · Crime · Action · Adventure · Survival

First rule: never let them breathe. Survival games, locked rooms, last stands, wrong turns. Pure genre energy — the kind that pins you to the screen.

We judge the work on screen, and the creative vision behind it.

Project Credits Back

100% Project Credits Back

Complete your PixLight film in Canvas and get 100% of eligible project credits back — up to 100,000 credits.

This benefit applies throughout the PixLight submission period, from August 7 through October 31.

Available to paid PixVerse members who complete a valid Pilot Track submission and use eligible membership or purchased credits for the submitted Canvas project.

Creators may submit up to three entries, but each PixVerse account may receive the Project Credits Back benefit only once. If multiple Pilot Track submissions under the same account qualify, the return will be calculated based on the qualifying project with the highest eligible credit usage.

What Counts

Eligible credits include membership credits and purchased credits used directly for the submitted PixLight Canvas project before final submission.

Starter Pack, gifted, promotional and Bonus credits are not included. Membership fees, external production costs, unrelated generations, and usage that cannot be verified as part of the submitted project are also excluded.

How Credits Are Returned

After the submission and eligible usage are verified, credits will generally be issued within 10 business days to the Bonus balance of the same PixVerse account.

Returned Bonus credits do not expire, are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot qualify for another PixLight credit return.

Verification

The final eligible amount is determined based on PixVerse account, Canvas project, generation, and credit-usage records. Please keep the submitted Canvas project and relevant generation history accessible until verification is complete.

PixVerse may adjust or deny credit returns in cases of abnormal, abusive, fraudulent, duplicated, multi-account, or otherwise ineligible activity, including refunded, reversed, or disputed purchases.

Acceptance of Rules: By submitting an entry to PixLight 2026, each participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Official Rules, the PixVerse Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any other contest guidelines referenced herein, all of which form a legally binding agreement between the participant and PixVerse.

Where a submission is made by or on behalf of a team, the submitting individual represents and warrants that they have the authority to bind all team members to these Official Rules and accepts responsibility for ensuring each team member complies with them.

Participation in PixLight 2026 is conditional upon acceptance of these Official Rules. Entries submitted without such acceptance may be rejected or disqualified.

Who can enter: Open worldwide to participants aged 18 or older, subject to applicable laws and the Sanctions and Payment Restrictions below. Individuals and teams may enter. Free to enter. PixVerse account required. Work created on or after January 1, 2026.

Submissions: Up to 3 entries per track. Both tracks open. Deadline: October 31, 2026 at 23:59 UTC.

Where spoken dialogue or narration is used, Pilot Track films and Script Track video pitches must include burned-in English subtitles, including English-language videos. Script Track screenplays must be submitted in English. No edits after submission.

Workflow (Pilot Track): PixVerse Canvas must be the primary creative platform. Video generation models are not restricted — works may combine AI-generated content with live-action footage, traditional VFX, or other production techniques. A workflow summary is optional at the time of submission. However, PixVerse may request a workflow summary or other reasonable supporting materials to verify compliance with the contest rules, including AI-content and PixVerse Canvas workflow requirements. Entrants must provide the requested materials within the specified timeframe. Every Pilot Track entry must be associated with a valid Canvas Share Link. After submission, the Canvas project will be available for viewing and cloning through its PixLight Gallery page. If the entry is submitted through the Inspiration Plaza publishing flow, the project will also be displayed in Inspiration Plaza.

Rights: All entries must be original. Non-original music requires proof of license. Original characters, worlds, stories, screenplays, and underlying intellectual property remain the property of their respective creators.

By entering PixLight 2026, participants grant PixVerse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license during the contest and for five (5) years thereafter to display, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, publicly communicate, translate, adapt solely for promotional formatting, and otherwise use submitted materials (including excerpts, stills, trailers, cover images, titles, creator names, biographies, behind-the-scenes materials, and related promotional assets) for purposes of administering, promoting, documenting, marketing, and archiving PixLight and PixVerse products, services, events, and official channels.

Winning entries and shortlisted works may be featured by PixVerse across its websites, applications, social media channels, exhibitions, presentations, educational materials, marketing campaigns, case studies, and other official promotional activities without additional compensation beyond any prizes awarded, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

PixVerse holds a first-look right to evaluate and negotiate potential development of winning projects. For Script Track winning projects, PixVerse shall have an exclusive first negotiation right for a period of 90 days following the announcement of winners to discuss potential adaptation, production, financing, licensing, distribution, or other commercial development. During such period, the creator agrees not to enter into any exclusive development agreement with a third party relating to the awarded project without first providing PixVerse a reasonable opportunity to negotiate in good faith. If no definitive written agreement is reached within such period, the creator may freely pursue opportunities with third parties.

Social media (Pilot Track only): Post the complete submitted film, including the official PixLight title card, on X, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Bilibili, or another widely used public social or video platform. The post must include both #PixLight2026 and #PixVerse. Including a link to the Canvas project is optional. The post must remain publicly accessible through the judging period. Social data is referenced during evaluation. Script Track does not require social posting.

PixLab Creator Program: Selected winning creators may be invited to join the PixLab Creator Program or other successor creator initiatives operated by PixVerse. Membership eligibility, benefits, obligations, incentive programs, and commercial collaboration opportunities shall be determined by PixVerse under separate program terms.

An invitation to participate does not guarantee continued participation, compensation, sponsorship, or future commercial opportunities, and PixVerse reserves the right to determine eligibility, suspend participation, or discontinue the program at its discretion.

Commercial Development Opportunities: PixVerse may, at its sole discretion, approach winning or shortlisted creators regarding potential commercial development, financing, production, distribution, licensing, adaptation, merchandising, or other exploitation of their projects.

Any commercial cooperation, option, license, assignment, production agreement, investment, revenue sharing arrangement, or other business relationship shall be subject to separate written agreements negotiated between the parties. Except for the rights expressly granted under these Rules, no ownership transfer or exclusive commercial rights shall arise solely from participation in the contest.

Prohibited content: Pornographic, sexually explicit, or exploitative material; extreme violence; hate speech or discrimination; politically sensitive content; unauthorized third-party IP; AI-generated likenesses of real public figures without permission; previously commercially distributed works; content violating applicable laws.

Violation: PixVerse may reject, suspend, disqualify, revoke awards, withhold prize payments, or require repayment of any prizes already distributed if it reasonably determines that:

  • any eligibility requirement was not satisfied;
  • false, misleading, or incomplete information was provided;
  • the submission infringes third-party rights;
  • plagiarism, fraud, cheating, vote manipulation, artificial traffic generation, or other unfair conduct occurred;
  • the participant breached these Rules or any applicable PixVerse Terms of Service;
  • the participant engaged in conduct that materially harms the reputation, security, or legitimate interests of PixVerse, the contest, its partners, judges, or participants.

Sanctions and Payment Restrictions: A winner will not be eligible to receive a prize if the winner:

  • is located, domiciled, ordinarily resident in, or a national of a country or region subject to applicable comprehensive economic sanctions or embargoes administered or enforced by the United Nations, the United States, the European Union, or any other competent sanctions authority;
  • is included on, or owned or controlled by a person or entity included on, any applicable sanctions, blocked-person, or restricted-party list, including without limitation the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List; or
  • is otherwise subject to any applicable law, restriction, banking rule, payment-service-provider requirement, or compliance measure that prevents the Organizer or its designated payment provider from lawfully processing the prize payment.

If any such circumstance applies, or if the Organizer is unable to complete the payment after conducting reasonable compliance checks, the Organizer may suspend, withhold, cancel, or declare the prize forfeited, to the extent permitted by applicable law, without being required to provide an alternative payment method or substitute prize.

Jury integrity: Jury members must disclose and recuse themselves from evaluating any entry where a conflict of interest exists.

Privacy: Personal information collected through PixLight is used solely for contest administration and handled in accordance with PixVerse’s Privacy Policy.

Modifications: PixVerse reserves the right, acting reasonably and in good faith, to interpret, amend, supplement, suspend, postpone, or cancel any aspect of PixLight 2026 where necessary due to legal, regulatory, technical, security, operational, or other unforeseen circumstances. Any material changes will be announced through PixVerse’s official channels. Continued participation following such announcement constitutes acceptance of the updated Rules to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Creator Representations: Participants represent and warrant that: all submitted materials are original or lawfully licensed; participation does not violate any contractual, employment, confidentiality, or other legal obligations; all necessary permissions have been obtained for any identifiable individuals, music, artwork, trademarks, or third-party materials appearing in the submission; any AI-generated or AI-assisted content complies with applicable laws and these Rules.

Winner Cooperation: Acceptance of an award constitutes the winner’s agreement to reasonably cooperate with PixVerse in connection with publicity relating to PixLight 2026 for up to twelve (12) months following the announcement of the winners. Such cooperation may include interviews, media appearances, promotional videos, educational content, social media campaigns, community events, creator spotlights, or other reasonable promotional activities, subject to the winner’s reasonable availability.

PixVerse may identify selected winners as Featured Creators or Official PixLight Creators and may invite them to participate in future creator programs, mentoring initiatives, platform showcases, commercial collaborations, or other long-term creator development opportunities. Participation in any such program shall be voluntary unless otherwise agreed in writing. As a condition of receiving any prize and/or participating in any subsequent collaboration, winners may be required to enter into one or more separate written agreements with PixVerse setting out the applicable terms and conditions.

FAQ

Can I use live-action footage in my Pilot Track entry?

Yes. Works may combine AI-generated content with live-action footage, VFX, or other techniques. A workflow summary is optional at the time of submission, but PixVerse may request one or other supporting materials to verify compliance with the contest rules. PixVerse Canvas must still serve as the primary creative platform.

Do I have to use PixVerse for video generation?

No. Video generation models are not restricted. Canvas must lead the workflow, but you may use any generation tools alongside it.

How can I submit my Canvas project to PixLight?

You can enter through the PixLight 2026 submission page, or select the option to enter PixLight while publishing your Canvas project to Inspiration Plaza. Both routes use the project’s Canvas Share Link. Entries submitted through the PixLight page appear in the PixLight Gallery. Entries submitted through the Inspiration Plaza publishing flow appear in both Inspiration Plaza and the PixLight Gallery.

What’s the difference between the two tracks?

Pilot Track is for finished AI films (3–20 min). Script Track is for complete feature screenplays for AI-native production with an intended runtime of 45–90 minutes and a video pitch. You can enter both.

Is the 3–20 minute length inclusive of the official PixLight title card?

Yes.

What format should my screenplay be in?

PDF, DOC, or DOCX. The screenplay is for jury review only and will not be publicly displayed.

Is AI assistance allowed for Script Track entries?

Yes. AI-assisted screenplays are accepted. You remain responsible for the originality of your work and for ensuring that your submission does not infringe any third-party rights. You will be asked to confirm this in the originality declaration when you submit.

Is a workflow summary required when I submit?

No. A workflow summary is optional at the time of submission. However, PixVerse may request a workflow summary or other supporting materials from shortlisted entrants or where necessary to verify compliance with the contest rules. Entrants must provide the requested materials to remain eligible.

Does social posting affect my score?

Social data is one reference signal within the Community & Canvas dimension (10% for Pilot Track). It does not determine rankings on its own. Script Track does not require social posting.

Who owns my work after I submit?

You retain ownership of your original work. By entering PixLight 2026, you grant PixVerse the rights described in the Rules & Eligibility, including the right to display and promote your submission in connection with the contest and PixVerse. Winning creators may also be invited to discuss further development or commercial collaboration, subject to separate written agreement.

Has the PixLight submission deadline been extended?

Yes. The new submission deadline for PixLight 2026 is October 31, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. Judging will take place in early November, with winners expected to be announced in late November.

When are results announced?

Winners are expected to be announced in late November 2026.

Where can I download the official PixLight title card?

Available on the PixLight submission page.

Can one creator or team receive multiple awards?

No. Each creator or team may receive only one award. If a submission qualifies for more than one award, only the highest-tier award will apply.

Are prizes subject to tax?

Yes. All prizes are stated on a pre-tax basis. Tax treatment and payment procedures depend on the winner’s country or region. Winners outside Mainland China are generally responsible for determining, reporting, and paying applicable taxes, except where withholding is required by law. For winners in Mainland China, applicable individual income tax will be withheld through the Organizer’s designated payment platform.

When and how will prizes be paid?

Prize payments will generally be processed within 60 days after the results are announced, subject to the winner completing all required identity, eligibility, compliance, tax, and payment verification, providing the required documentation, and signing the applicable prize agreement. Payment currency, contracting entity, and payment channel will depend on the winner’s country or region and payment eligibility.

Are there any restrictions on prize payments?

Yes. Prize payments are subject to applicable sanctions, banking, payment-provider, and compliance requirements. A winner may be ineligible to receive a prize if the Organizer or its designated payment provider cannot lawfully process the payment. Please refer to the Sanctions and Payment Restrictions section for details.

Who qualifies for the 100% Project Credits Back benefit?

Paid PixVerse members who complete a valid PixLight Pilot Track submission and use eligible membership or purchased credits for the submitted Canvas project qualify to receive 100% of those eligible project credits back, up to 100,000 credits.

Creators may submit up to three entries, but each PixVerse account can receive this benefit only once. If multiple Pilot Track submissions under the same account qualify, the credit return will be calculated based on the qualifying project with the highest eligible credit usage.

Which credits are eligible to be returned?

Only membership credits and purchased credits used directly for the submitted PixLight project in Canvas are eligible.

Starter Pack credits, gifted or promotional credits, Bonus credits, previously returned credits, membership fees, and credit usage unrelated to the submitted project are not included.

When and where will I receive my returned credits?

After your submission and eligible credit usage have been verified, the returned credits will generally be issued within 10 business days.

They will be added to the Bonus balance of the same PixVerse account used for the qualifying project. Returned Bonus credits do not expire.

How does PixVerse verify eligible project credit usage?

PixVerse verifies eligible usage based on the submitted Canvas project, generation history, and backend credit-consumption records.

Please keep your Canvas project and relevant generation history accessible until verification is complete. Unrelated, unverifiable, abnormal, abusive, duplicated, or otherwise ineligible usage may be excluded from the final returned amount.

Any matters not expressly addressed herein shall be determined by PixVerse in a manner consistent with the purpose and integrity of the contest.
